Urban dwellers have limited gardening experience
Limited green space in their homes
Adopting and maintaining sustainable gardening practices
Limited space, lack of knowledge, and busy lifestyles, affordability
Negative health and environmental consequences.
I continued to explore this topic, opening further doors of research. My findings, detailed below, build upon our initial insights and provide a more comprehensive understanding.
Plant selection is influenced by various factors, including light requirements, climate, soil quality, available space, maintenance level, water needs, aesthetic appeal, functional uses, gardening knowledge, and access to resources. Urban dwellers often prioritize compact, low-maintenance plants that suit their limited space and busy lifestyles.

Urban dwellers can overcome space constraints by using vertical gardening, container gardening, community gardens, rooftop gardens, and indoor gardening. They can also use raised beds and choose compact plant varieties to maximize their limited space.

Choose low-maintenance plants
Implement simple care routines
Create a supportive environment
Encourage a mindset of patience and learning.

Beginner gardeners often face challenges like understanding plant needs, preparing soil, managing pests and diseases, proper spacing, overcommitting, and overcoming emotional hurdles. Addressing these issues through education, planning, and patience can lead to successful gardening experiences.
